In collaboration between the founding partners of THE CRAB, with assistance from the Ralph Appelbaum Associetes, 2469 Reiselivsutvikling and Renommé a conseptual study has been developed. The project aims to build on Bugøynes' budding tourist offerings and elevate the village into a world-class destination.

In Bugøynes
Bugøynes is a place like no other. Perched on the edge of the Barents sea, at the end of the world, this historic fishing village offers a glimpse in to a truly authentic and untouched norwegian way of life. Just 30 years ago - remote, cut off and facing economic wipe out - the village were ready to pack up their belongings and leave for good.. until the king crab turned up. King crab have put Bugøynes back on the map. Therein lies the opportunity.
Today, the people of Bugøynes invite travellers to their beautiful village, to experience their way of life, marvel in their landscape, rejuvenate in their saunas, taste their food and, most importantly, celebrate the fameous king crab!
